Elton John Sexual Harassment Lawsuit Dropped as Former Bodyguard's Case is Withdrawn

The sexual harassment lawsuit filed against Sir Elton John by a former bodyguard has been dropped.

Jeffrey Wenninger sued Sir Elton in March, claiming that while they were in a car in 2014 the Rocket Man singer grabbed his crotch, twisted his nipples and insisted he, "Say hello to Uncle Elton."

On another occasion, also in a car, the former policeman alleged that the Rocket Man singer tweaked his nipples - allegations that were all dismissed as "baseless" by the singer's reps.

The Los Angeles Superior Court suit also claimed Sir Elton groped him several times.

Now, the singer's reps have confirmed to Mirror Celebs that the case has been withdrawn, following reports from TMZ suggesting a settlement has been made.

A spokesperson said: "The case was withdrawn, with no payment made."

The alleged incidents were previously dismissed by the entertainer’s representatives as a “baseless lawsuit brought by a disgruntled former security officer seeking to extract an undeserved payment”.

Mr. Wenninger was Sir Elton's bodyguard for 12 years, until September 2014.

In July this year, Elton is reported to have settled out-of-court with a male employee whom he sacked in mid-2015.
Elton, who strongly denied any wrongdoing, is understood to have paid the man a six-figure sum, with the sexual harassment claims subsequently withdrawn.
