Elton: 'I'd Have Loved a Baby Daughter'

Sir Elton John has told of his regret at not having had a daughter.

He also revealed he is ready to stop touring so he can see more of his two young sons, who were born to a surrogate mother.

Speaking about fatherhood, the 68-year-old singer, who has been with husband David Furnish for 23 years, said: “I can truthfully say I wish I had done it earlier … because I would love to have a little girl. But we have two great boys and we are so grateful for that.”

In the interview with Ross King, broadcast on STV’s Lorraine this morning, Elton said Zachary, five, and Elijah, three, were having a down-to-earth upbringing.

He added: “They are not going to become showbiz kids, we don’t dress them in designer clothes.”
