Support Acts Announced for Australian Tour

Elton John is getting ready to unleash the hits upon Australia when he tours in December and now things have just got even more exciting with the Brit confirming a host of stellar support acts.

Pianist and composer Tate Sheridan will open for John at all shows while Megan Washington, Sheppard and Foy Vance will share the responsibility, each supporting at different gigs.

Washington, who released her brilliant sophomore album There, There last year will warm-up the crowd in The Hunter Valley. Meanwhile, Sheppard, who held the number one position on the ARIA charts with Geronimo, will handle things in Geelong.

That leaves Foy Vance to act as the main support in Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney. Vance may be a relatively new name on the scene but he collaborated with Ed Sheeran on his latest record X and has also joined the British superstar live on stage. No doubt this support slot will ensure plenty of new Aussie fans.

The tour celebrates the 40th Anniversary of John’s iconic Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album which he will dedicate a portion of the show to. He’s also set to be the final international act to play Sydney’s Qantas Credit Union Arena, known to most as Sydney Entertainment Centre, before it’s bulldozed as part of the Darling Harbour refurbishments.
