Something is about to change at the Royal Theatre. Accustomed to opera and classical music, the voice of tenors, basses and mezzo-sopranos, the Madrid coliseum live from 20 to 27 July, the first festival of pop and rock music history. Elton John, Raphael, Miguel Poveda and Juanes are proper names of an event never seen before. A proposal that comes with the intention to consolidate and compete on the calendar with the great classics.
The first to hear the acoustics of the Teatro Real is Elton John. The British singer-songwriter began his vacation on July 19 but postponed two days in Madrid to present his "Solo piano show" a concert in which he will review his greatest hits. The next day, the duo formed by Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil revive past battles.
