The Voice Wants Elton John to Replace Tom Jones

Despite being 74-years-old, The Voice coach Sir Tom Jones has, until now that is, shown no sign of wanting to cut back on his workload and take things a little easier.

However, according to the Daily Mirror today, that is in fact exactly what he plans to do when the current series of The Voice ends later this year, and therefore, it’s believed he won’t be back on the hit BBC talent quest show in 2016.

Sir Tom has reportedly mooted the notion that he’s going to retire at the end of the year to the show’s bosses, and that being the case, BBC executives are already on the hunt for a music biz A-lister to replace the veteran crooner.

According to a The Voice insider, Sir Elton John is number one on their wish list.

The show source said, “Producers have been thrown into a spin and are now looking for his [Sir Tom’s] replacement.

“At the top of their wish list is Elton John…

“They think he would make a brilliant mentor.”

However, the show insider added, “They realise it’s going to be very tough getting him on board.

“He’s one of the world’s most well paid stars and doesn’t have to do very much.”

But the show source concluded that The Voice bosses are “prepared to do everything they can” to persuade him to sign up as a coach.
