Elton to Appear on Operation Change This Monday on OWN

In December 2012, Elton and partner David Furnish traveled to the Philippines to share the life-changing joy of sound, giving people in need the opportunity to hear clearly for the first time in their lives by providing and fitting them with free hearing aids.

They embarked on the journey with longtime philanthropic supporters Bill and Tani Austin and their son Steven Sawalich through their global non-profit organization, the Starkey Hearing Foundation, which gives free hearing aids to those in need, transforming lives by empowering people to connect with their families and their communities like never before.

Their trip to Manila will be a part of an upcoming episode of the Operation Change documentary series, airing on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). The “Malaysia” episode will air on Monday, August 4 at 10|9c.

“Working with this family, and supporting their efforts through the Starkey Hearing Foundation has been an incredibly uplifting experience for me,” says Elton. “When people are cared for and not forgotten, their human spirit comes alive, and that’s why, when [Starkey] approached me, I had to be a part of Operation Change. I know everyone who watches this series will want to be a part of it as well. My friend Oprah Winfrey’s network, OWN, is the perfect vehicle for this groundbreaking series.”
