Elton Performs Electronica Duet with Bright Light Bright Light

And just like that, out of nowhere, there's a new Elton John duet with Bright Light Bright Light! The single 'I Wish We Were Leaving' landed on iTunes this afternoon for download.

The electro-pop maestro decided to drop an EP and according to Rod Thomas- the mastermind behind the band, the single wasn't originally meant to be a duet. 'I played him 'I Wish We Were Leaving' and he added his vocals. Although it wasn't written as a duet, I love that his voice taking lead in the second verse is a reminder that every relationship has two sides and two voices.' Thomas was speaking to The Guardian and as it turns out John confessed to being a fan, who added in his vocals and the single happened.

When the single came out, Thomas said, 'It's the hardest secret I've had to keep, and I'm VERY thrilled to share the news with you!'

John spoke about working on the single and said, 'Working with Bright Light Bright Light was a challenge for me as I love Electronica but am quite ignorant on the recording process. I had to sing in a completely different way which I really enjoyed.'

The full EP is out on 7 April and the second album by Bright Light Bright Light, Life Is Easy is out this Summer.
