PBS to Air Elton John in Concert


Legendary artist Elton John returns to the stage in a concert that includes his greatest hits as well as songs from his new album, Diving Board. In this clip he performs "Rocket Man" and "I'm Still Standing." Elton John IN CONCERT premieres Saturday, October 5 at 8 p.m. ET on PBS (check local listings). Get a sneak peek below!

The Diving Board Enters UK Charts at Number Three!

Elton's The Diving Board has entered the Official Albums Chart UK Top 100 at #3, making it his highest debuting studio album since Songs From The West Coast (2001) and following last year's #1 debut of Good Morning To The Night (a collection of remixes and reworkings of songs from Elton's 1970s catalogue by Elton John vs. Pnau).

Sir Elton John is not, one suspects, one of life's great advocates for the pleasures of spending a weekend sleeping under canvas, queuing to use the composting toilets and making the best of it while the elements lash the main stage and the ground turns to slurry beneath your feet.

Elton Awarded GQ Genius Award

There were about 12 different award ceremonies in London last night. Elton John was given a Brits Icon Award at a special bash. But he was also named Genius at the GQ Men Of The Year Awards – which he immediately handed back to the man who gave it to him. Because it was Wilko Johnson. In true Elton style he did it with the words: “You’re the fucking genius here!”

On Monday night, in an extravaganza at the Palladium in London, Sir Elton John received the first Brits Icon award. Holding the statuette aloft, he joked: “They’ve even made it sparkly on the bottom, which you know I love!” But if you want to know what the 66-year-old star really thinks, it is probably best to ask away from the glare of cameras.
