Elton to Perform Duet with Gary Barlow at X Factor Finale
Next month’s X Factor final is set to be the biggest yet – but not because of this year’s crop of hopefuls, but instead because Elton John has signed up.
It was rumoured last month that the Rocket Man hitmaker was going to make an appearance on the show, but it has now been reported he will be singing in the live final alongside judge Gary Barlow.
The singing powerhouses will sing new track Face To Face, which is taken from Barlow’s upcoming record Since I Saw You Last.
While The X Factor final always sees big names take to the stage, the show judges usually only get involved to perform a duet with their acts.
If Rough Copy remain in the competition until the final, Gazza will be dusting off his microphone twice on the night.
Other acts said to be taking to the stage at Wembley Arena include former X Factor stars One Direction and US pop sensation Katy Perry.
Gary is also due to sing one of his new tracks a week on Sunday.
It’s a big turnaround for Elton, seeing as he previously labelled the show ‘boring, a**e-paralysingly brain crippling’.
He said: ‘TV vaults you to superstardom and then you have to back it up.
‘Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke are at the mercy of the next song they can get. It’s important that they write their own songs, so they’re not at the mercy of anyone. Contemporary pop isn’t very inspiring.’
