David Furnish to Open Champagne Bar at Caesars Palace

Las Vegas is about to become a bit more fabulous.

David Furnish, husband of Elton John (whose show at Caesars Palace returns in September and October) will add some bubbles to the mix this fall with Fizz Las Vegas, a new Champagne lounge.

Located between Caesars Palace Colosseum theater and the Forum Shops, the venue, set to open in late October or early November, will feature a glam-chic look, high-end Champagnes by the glass and a small-plates menu overseen by John's and Furnish's chef. Artwork will include photographs from the couple's personal collection.

"Spending so much time in Las Vegas with Elton's performance schedule, we wanted a space that would reflect our personal style and become an extension of the way we entertain at home," Furnish said in a statement.

Fizz isn't the first Champagne bar on the Strip, but it is the first with celebrity backing.

Furnish is collaborating on the venture with nightlife operators Michael Greco and Steven Kennedy of Marvel Management and Marketing.

"Overall the lounge will appeal to a sophisticated crowd that wants to experience an intimate outlet with a great vibe and incredible selection of cocktails, Champagnes by the glass and small plates," Kennedy said in a statement. "We expect a great deal of the Colosseum audience will visit before or after the show as well."

Does anyone find it strange that he would open up this bar, considering EJ's alcohol addiction before?
