Check Out Elton's Collaboration with QOTSA

This past February, Elton made an appearance on American television's Chelsea Lately talk show, where he was interviewed by guest-host David Grohl. The Foo Fighters' drummer, who also does a great deal of session work, revealed to the audience that, "Recently, Elton and I recorded something together…something that people wouldn't imagine us doing."

And with that, it was announced that Elton had sat in on a Queens Of The Stone Age session (with Grohl playing drums). The resulting song, Fairweather Friends, is on the California band's new album …Like Clockwork, which is being released in the UK and US next week and is currently available as a free album stream on iTunes.

Elton plays piano and sings background vocals on the song. The collaboration came as a result of Elton coming across a side-project of Grohl's and QOTSA front-man Josh Homme's, Them Crooked Vultures. This led to his listening to earlier QOTSA material and being so enthused by it that he called Homme on the phone to suggest they work together.
