Elton Plays Private Corporate Gig in Cannes

Sir Elton John took to the stage Tuesday night to play for a small group of Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity attendees. Clear Channel Media and Entertainment and MediaLink hired the theatrical singer to perform for clients, potential clients and high-profile festival-goers. Attendees included WPP CEO Sir Martin Sorrell, IPG CEO Michael Roth, Horizon Media CEO Bill Koenigsberg and about 150 other guests.

John performed classics such as Rocket Man, I'm Still Standing, Your Song and Tiny Dancer at the ultra-luxurious Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes.

It was a small gathering, yet John performed with such passion it was "as if he were in an arena of 20,000," says concert-goer Jim Stengel, CEO of consulting firm The Jim Stengel Company. "The energy simply swept the room."
