Melbourne Review, Video & Photos

Rod Laver Arena is an urban arena that is famous for hosting the Australian Open annually. It is a well designed, accessible arena and I feel that it captures concert sound rather well.

Elton didn't say much at the first show. He teased the 2cellos and said how they were nice to look at and even better to taste and that they lowered the average age of the band by 30 years.

He said that there are many Croatians in Melbourne and he dedicated DLTSGDOM to all the people he met backstage 'some old friends and some new friends'. Moly Meldrum (famous Australian) was in attendance.

I must say on a negative note the security here are far too strict. They keep making everyone sit down, won't let anyone from row 3 beyond come up to the stage at the end and are generally there to spoil the event for many people. I understand they are trying to control a crowd, but other venues were less concerned about these issues and the audience seemed happier because of it.

On a happier note, the fan drinks we had at the Beer DeLuxe were a huge success with a great turn out. A big thank you to all the people who came along. I met some lovely people and made some good friends. I hope you enjoyed your experience and the show that night.
