Elton Arrives in Singapore

After 40 years of playing live and more than 3000 public concerts as of 8 October, Elton John still gets a thrill at the thought of playing for his fans.

The "Rocket Man" who landed in Singapore on Tuesday said on arrival,"I am very excited to be here and really looking forward to the concert with my Singapore fans on Sunday night".

Extra tickets for Elton John and Band were immediately released for the show presented by Marina Bay Sands.

The S$248 and S$188 tickets for side and rear view seats were released since earlier concert tickets have sold out.

"The release of these seats also enables us to help meet the huge demand for tickets" said Colleen Ironside of tour and event promotion company Live Limited.

"The additional seats are some of the best seats in the house which provide a fabulous view of the stage" she added.

Joining Elton John on his "Greatest Hits Tour" will be his long-time band; Davey Johnstone, Nigel Olsson, Bob Birch, Kim Bullard and John Mahon.

The band will also feature Rose Stone of Sly And The Family Stone fame, Lisa Stone, Tata Vega and Jean Witherspoon on backing vocals.

Opening the one-night-only concert and making their first appearance in Singapore, will be the Croatian duo, Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser of 2CELLOS.

After Singapore, Elton John's "Greatest Hits Tour" will play in Malaysia on Tuesday.
