Lievin Concert Cancelled Due to Volcano

The concert at Stade Couvert in Lievin, France scheduled for May 24th has been cancelled.

The stage had been fully set up and was cancelled at the last minute.

The reason given by Elton's French promoter is due to the Iceland Volcano and the ash cloud it created over Northern Europe. It was not safe for Elton to leave England via private jet for France.

"Every time, it is not the will of the artist. We're really sorry but we did everything possible. This time he did not take off, it's true ... "

No word has been given on the status of future concerts as yet.

Ticket holders will receive a full refund from their point of purchase.

I had tickets for the show. It the second time Elton has cancelled the show in Lievin in five months. If he is London the air space had no restrictions. If there was a problem he could have taken the Eurostar to Lille or driven via the tunnel. The concert venue is less than 1 hours drive from either of them. Feeels like he didn't want to play in front of only 3000 punters !!!
