Elton Coming to Kingston, Hamilton & Sault Ste. Marie

British rock-legend Elton John has added Kingston to his North American tour schedule.

Elton John and his band will perform at the K-Rock Centre July 9. The concert, Rocket-Man - The Greatest Hits Live, draws from his hit songs that span five decades.

Tickets go on sale Friday and cost $89.50 and $149.50.


TORONTO, ON - Elton John will make his first-ever live appearance in Sault Ste. Marie this July. The concert will take place on Monday, July 12, 8 p.m. at Essar Centre.

Elton and his band will perform their ‘Rocket Man – the Greatest Hits Live’ concert, featuring Number 1 chart hits and classic album tracks from throughout Elton’s incredible five-decade career.

Elton’s band comprises Davey Johnstone on guitar, Bob Birch on bass, John Mahon on percussion, Nigel Olsson on drums and Kim Bullard on keyboards.

One of the most successful live acts on the road today, Elton and his band put on the kind of concert you never forget: the entire audience standing, dancing and singing along with much-loved classic songs such as “Your Song," “Daniel," "Rocket Man," "Bennie and the Jets" and many, many more.

The monumental career of international singer/ songwriter and performer Elton John spans five decades.

He is one of the top-selling solo artists of all time, with 35 gold and 25 platinum albums, 29 consecutive Top 40 hits, and he has sold more than 250 million records worldwide.

John holds the record for the biggest selling single of all time, “Candle in the Wind ‘97,” which sold 37 million copies.

Since his career began in 1969 he has played almost 3,000 concerts worldwide.

The original Rocket Man -- Elton John -- is returning to Copps Coliseum to perform a concert on Saturday, July 10.

John is currently touring North America with his Rocket Man: Greatest Hits Live show. It features John and his talented five-piece band, which includes longtime sidemen Davey Johnstone on guitars and Nigel Olsson on drums.

John is also performing Wednesday night on a special American Idol Gives Back televised charity fundraiser with Carrie Underwood and several other major stars.
John has performed several times at Copps Coliseum.

His last performance in 2006 stands as the second highest grossing concert in the arena's history. That concert raked in $1.76 million. Only Bruce Springsteen's 2008 concert earned more cash ($1.96 million).
