Elton John & Santana Playing Dubai March 27!

Dubai: Five-time Grammy Award-winner Sir Elton John will perform before an expected crowd of 60,000 at this year's Dubai World Cup (DWC).

The legendary British singer-songwriter will be supported by Latin guitarist Carlos Santana who will open the Stars on Track concert which will mark the first Dubai World Cup at the newly-opened Meydan Racecourse.

The night of racing and entertainment can be enjoyed by anyone who purchases a ticket to this year's Dubai World Cup. Around 10,000 exclusive Golden Circle Premium tickets will be sold for the race day, which will include the best view for the post-race gig.

All those holding Apron Views, formerly International Village tickets, suite packages or Grandstand hospitality will be able to enjoy the music from their designated areas. Gates for the Dubai World Cup open at 2pm while the first race begins at 4.45pm.

Santana will take to the stage around 11pm and will be followed by Sir Elton John. The concert is expected to last around two hours.

Tickets for the Dubai World Cup are on sale at and the exclusive tickets will go on sale online on Sunday. Tickets for Aprons Views, which is a general admission ticket for the DWC, are priced Dh350.
Apron Views is situated between the track and the Meydan Grandstand and this vast area will be home to the famous Bubble Lounge. Premium Seating tickets 1, 2 & 3 are priced at Dh1,000, Dh900, Dh800 and is situated opposite the finish line. It offers one of the best views of the racecourse.

Tickets for the Meydan Terrace cost Dh750. The Terrace, which is located on Level 2 of the Grandstand, holds approximately 2,000 people and gives race-goers a wide choice of where they wish to sit.

Another key viewing area is the Parade Ring Restaurant for which tickets are priced at Dh2,750. Located on the Ground Floor in the Meydan Grandstand this international buffet restaurant offers up-close views of the horses in the parade ring. TV screens will be situated around the restaurant to ensure that guests don't miss out on all the racing.
The day will start with afternoon tea and follow through with an international dinner buffet.

Superstars Elton John and Santana will perform live at the 2010 Dubai World Cup at Meydan on March 27, it has been announced.

The 15th running of the Dubai World Cup also marks the official launch of the world’s largest integrated racing facility, the Meydan Grandstand and Racecourse.

And to mark the occasion, Meydan has signed up two of the music world's biggest names to provide the entertainment at the close of the racing action.

The dual headliner concert is expected to start after the last race at about 10.45pm. They are the latest music stars to appear at Meydan - Sting performed at the latest race meeting held on Thursday night.

Elton John and Santana, closing the 15th Dubai World Cup here at Meydan.

Frank Gabriel Jr, CEO of the Dubai Racing Club added: “We have world-class horses, jockeys and trainers on one of the world’s most anticipated race days with $26m in prize money at stake over eight races.

Elton John and Santana to close the 15th Dubai World Cup and Meydan’s official launch – this will be the event of the year.”

Gates at Meydan Racecourse will open from 2pm for the races. Dubai World Cup Apron Views tickets start from AED350, and exclusive Dubai World Cup Golden Circle tickets for up close access to the concert arena start at AED600.

With 90 singles and 32 albums, Elton John is widely credited as one of the world’s most dynamic musical legends while Santana has sold more than 90 million records.
