Thank you for all your loyalty and patronage throughout this very difficult year.
2010 was most likely the hardest year for our much loved Sir Elton. He has had several of his closest friends and colleagues die. He has been extremely sick, requiring hospitalisation, and he was rejected for an adoption request. We can only imagine how Elton must have been feeling around that time.
Although he has struggled throughout some of this year, he has also managed to continue touring to new parts of the globe and hit the road with not 1 but four different tour formats. Next we will see more of him and Billy, firstly making up the postponed gigs from 2009. Then new shows added. We can expect an amazing tour with Ray Cooper, encompassing South Africa, Hawaii and Europe. Elton is also expected to play some dates in very unique locations including - a Mayan pyramid, Serbia, Prague, and a special fundraising event for Watford. Also keep an eye out for a new album to be released in late 2010.
Charity work, however, has been Elton's best achievement of 2009. He has attended more charity events than ever before and made millions of dollars for the EJAF this year! Congratulations and thank you for all your hard work Elton & David.
Once again, thanks for visiting my site throughout the year. It is an ongoing battle keeping it up to date. I apologise for being late and/or missing some news. Also, plans for the new website have not gone smoothly - so don't hold your breath. I may have to continue with this one. Next year however, I plan to bring more personal content to the site. Some more of my own photos, stories and memories might be added. And when Elton steps foot back in Australia, you can expect me to be the first to tell you!
Have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. The website may be inactive over the next 2 weeks, but it will be back-up shortly.
May 2010 bring all your heart desires.

WHAT do you buy the man who has everything?
At least that would seem to be the case when it comes to ELTON JOHN and his partner DAVID FURNISH.
I watched David in action at a posh charity dinner thrown by RIO FERDINAND, to launch Rio's new Live The Dream Foundation.
An auction was held after the nosh for things donated by Rio's wealthy pals.
Elton's gift was to spend the afternoon browsing his private art collection at his house in Windsor - then have afternoon tea with him and David.
But who should win the bidding for it - David.
He stumped up £30,000 for the experience.
Don't they like strangers calling or do they just enjoy their own company?
But it was a fun evening which raised more than £300,000 for Rio.

Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish still have adoption plans in mind even after their attempt to take on the responsibility of a Ukrainian youngster ended in a failure.
The duo, who entered into a civil partnership agreement in December 2005, had hoped to be allowed to adopt the 17-month-old Lev from an orphanage.
However, their civil partnership is not recognised under Ukrainian law.
Also, under the country’s law the 62-year-old Elton is too old for adopting a kid.
Thus, John and Furnish, 47, have been offered to play guardians for Lev.
"We want to support Lev and his brother and get them into a Ukrainian home and out of the orphanage," the Sun quoted Furnish, as saying.
He said: "We were upset not to be allowed to adopt but we'll fight and work with the Ukrainian government to change the law so that HIV positive children can be adopted. We'll be like uncles. They can visit us on holidays."
He said John and he would weigh their options during the Christmas break.
"That's part of what Christmas will be about - a chance to get off the treadmill and chill out. There is a lot for us to talk about," Furnish said.

Gay singer Elton John has said he cannot guarantee the Labour Party his vote.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph's Mandrake column at his AIDS Foundation Winter Ball on Saturday, the star said he did not feel Brown had grasped the "extent" of the rise in HIV infections.
He said: "Gordon Brown is a friend, but neither of us [himself and civil partner David Furnish] feels able to guarantee him our vote at the election."
When asked whether this was related to a recent Health Protection Agency report which suggested HIV infections had risen by eight per cent last year, he said: "I have talked to Gordon about it, but I am not sure he grasps the extent of the problem."
"People were more aware of the disease because of the uncompromising advertising campaign that [Margaret Thatcher's] government ran," he added.
"Now people seem to believe that they are invincible. Yes, sure, they can take pills when they become infected, but they seem to have no idea of the side-effects of these pills and the impact the condition has on their lives."
John has described himself as a "Labour man" in the past, although he and Furnish donated £10,495 each to the Liberal Democrats last year.

Last night a host of celebs including Elizabeth Hurley, Kelly Rowland, Tracy Emin, Amelle from the Sugababes, Daniel Merriweather and Amber le Bon flocked to the Grosvenor House Hotel for Elton John and David Furnish's lavish Winter Ball. (think White Tie and Tiara, but indoors). The Grosvenor House Hotel's ballroom was transformed into a winter wonderland with white blooms, ice-blue drapes and even the entrance re-carpeted in white for the occasion.
The aim was to raise funds for the Elton John Aids Foundation through ticket sales (VIPs paid up to a thousand pounds a ticket) and a very special auction.
Lily Allen, Roland Mouret and Lily Cole all designed spectacular bespoke bars imbued with their own personalities which were auctioned off to the VIP crowd to raise funds for Elton's worthy cause. Shoe designer Patrick Cox designed a one-of-a-kind gold Vespa and Chopard donated a diamond watch, also to be auctioned.
There were Grey Goose vodka cocktails a-plenty and the bidding started for Mouret's mirrored Origami Bar at a not insignificant twenty thousand pounds which included a bespoke dress created by the designer and modeled by Amber Le Bon. The highest selling item of the night was Lily Allen's portable bar (it could be folded into a flight case and taken with you on a private jet - handy!) which sold for a cool one hundred thousand pounds.
The couple's pop up shop, Out The Closet had a selection of their former threads for sale (think D&G, Prada, McQueen) where guests could pick up a silk Versace shirt or a pair of pointy shoes formerly owned by either Elton or David.
But despite all the glitz, glamour and fabulous gowns, Elton John was keen to remind his VIP audience about the work the Foundation is doing. "Every generation we see the number of cases of HIV rise as a new generation of need to be educated about the risks of unsafe sex. Young people are playing Russian roulette with their lives. My message is always be safe."
After his on stage interview (with questions by Fred, a young man the foundation has helped) it was swiftly back to the entertainment as Kelly Rowland took to the stage to perform a storming 45 minute set.
ELTON JOHN is back at the centre of a record company bidding war - 40 years on from when he first became a star.
Elt has written a number of new tracks with Australian dance producers P'NAU, who work closely with EMPIRE OF THE SUN.
A source said: "Elton says he's writing his most exciting new stuff for years - possibly decades.
"Working with P'Nau has got the creative juices flowing again.
"They have got a load of big companies sniffing around."

The Rocket Man is selling off his vast collection of designer togs, starting today, to raise money for charity and invited the Daily Star along for an exclusive preview.
And after having a rifle through the wardrobe, we sat down for a full and frank chat.
First up – The X Factor. Fans Sir Elton and David are throwing a huge fundraising party tonight so will miss the nail-biting final. But David’s making sure he sets the video so they can sit down and watch it together.
“I was very sad Danyl got voted out,” says David, 47. “He was my favourite, so I’m realigning my vote.
“Elton has been working Stateside on his new album so he wasn’t here to be able to go on the show. He’ll want a quick update on who the final contestants are. Once I tape it at the weekend I’m sure we’ll be watching together.”
The couple are also huge fans of wacky singer Lady GaGa, 23, who’s been wowing Britain with her increasingly odd costumes this week.
“Lady GaGa is fabulous,” says David. “She’s amazing. I love how she’s created this persona with a completely individual sense of style.
“I like people like her in music. It’s like Boy George in the Culture Club days – he was an original.
“During the 70s, 80s and 90s, David Bowie and Elton pushed the boundaries and barriers of what fashion as a performer means. Madonna too.
“They make the world a much more colourful and happy place – it keeps life interesting.”
Sir Elton, 62, is famous for his spectacular stage gear and glasses that are almost as distracting as his impressive voice.
He showed off another pair of zany red ones as he played a charity tennis match in Baton Rouge, Louisana, to raise money for his Elton John Aids Foundation.
But David admits they’ve made the odd fashion faux pas.
He laughs: “There’s always something you buy in the moment then bring it home and put it on and wonder: ‘What was I thinking?’
“We are lovers of fashion and think fashion is an art form so a lot of our items have been bought from a collectability standpoint.”
David also spoke out about their rift with George Michael, who launched an attack on the couple in a magazine article last weekend.
George, 46, said: “Elton will not be happy until I bang on his door in the middle of the night saying: ‘Please, please, help me Elton. Take me to rehab.’ It’s not going to happen.”
But David hits back: “The difficult thing for Elton and me is a lot of George’s friends keep calling us saying: ‘You have to do something, George is in a bad state.’
“We’re only reacting to what his close friends say to us. I respect George, I love George, I think he’s a huge talent.
“I just hope he’s well and happy and continues to be the great artist he is.”
Sir Elton will continue working with producer Leon Russell, 67, and songwriting partner Bernie Taupin, 59, on his new record in January, but first there’s a break in Italy.
“Elton has written a bunch of songs then he’s going back in the studio in January and February, so I expect the album will probably come out at the back end of next year,” reveals David.
“We’re going to Venice for Christmas. We’ve got an apartment where we go every year – it’s empty, quiet and beautiful. There’s something about being somewhere with no cars which allows you to switch off.
“We take the dogs with us to the restaurant and they sit at the table with us. Italians are very relaxed about that. They sit at the table with us like Lady And The Tramp.”
But turkey won’t be on the menu. David laughs: “One of the restaurants we go to does a turkey lunch, but I’ve had my fill. I celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving at a friend’s house in October and I was in LA for American Thanksgiving.
“I had my turkey and stuffing then, so I’m kind of done with it.”
The pair are holding the sale of their belongings tonight to raise cash for the Elton John Aids Foundation.
The last time that Elton and film- maker David rifled through their Versace, Dior, McQueen, Prada, D&G and Jean Paul Gaultier, celebs including Elle Macpherson, 46, and Natalie Imbruglia, 34, dug deep.
But you, too, can dress like a celeb with scarves, sunglasses, bags and shirts starting at £10.
“It was a giant purge,” David admits. “We’re very fortunate and blessed that a lot of fashion pieces are sent to us, or given at big discounts, so we do manage to acquire a lot of things.
“But you can’t wear them all at once and there’s no point in hanging on to them when someone else can wear them and enjoy them.”
Out The Closet is one of the 20 largest international Aids charities.
Elton said: “We always get a fantastic response from the public.
“I think the idea that the items we buy can help someone in dire need, particularly at this time of year, really strikes a chord.”

Elton John and Judy Garland were yesterday voted the greatest gay icons of all time.
The 62-year-old rock star - who wed David Furnish in 2005 - emerged as the most respected man among the gay community.
While Hollywood star Garland - who played Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz and was hugely popular with gay men during her lifetime - topped the list of women. A spokesman for www.OnePoll.com, which carried out the survey of 5,000 gay men and lesbians, said: "Interestingly only one of the men on the top 10 list of male celebrity gay icons isn't gay - David Beckham.
And yet most of the women put on a pedestal by the gay community are straight.
"It just shows that to advocate a certain way of living, you don't have to live the lifestyle but simply be more accepting of those around you."
Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, who died of an Aidsrelated illness in 1991, was second in the male list while comedian Stephen Fry came third.
Fry once said of his sexuality: "My first words, as I was being born... I looked up at my mother and said, 'That's the last time I'm going up one of those.'"

The sounds of basketballs bouncing around on the hard court along with the swooshing of nets would normally be heard reverberating throughout the PMAC on a Tuesday night in the middle of December.
This Tuesday night wasn’t a normal night, as the sounds of tennis balls bouncing off tightly-strung rackets on DecoTurf court replaced the sounds of basketballs on hard courts for the 17th annual World Team Tennis Smash Hits event.
The event, which was hosted by musical great Sir Elton John and former tennis great Billie Jean King, supports The Elton John AIDS Foundation and local HIV/AIDS charities. Former and currents tennis greats, including Andy Roddick, Serena Williams, Lindsay Davenport and Anna Kournikova, were on the two teams.
All players donated their time to the event, which in the past 16 years has raised more than $9 million.
This year, the event raised $640,000, of which more than $200,000 will stay local. That was the highest total raised since 2005 in Hershey, Penn.
“Every year gets better than the next, and as a huge sports fan and an even bigger tennis fan … it’s like being a kid in a candy shop playing with all these people,” Sir Elton said. “Sports for me is like music. It’s a great leveler. It unifies people.”
But while the event was for a good cause, tennis still had to be played to break the 8-8 series record, and King didn’t want to lose to Sir Elton.
“I want to give Elton a bad time for the next 365 days,” King said.
Although it was fun and games with the players interacting and Roddick even giving Williams a few of his grunting impressions of her, it was Sir Elton who got the bragging rights. His team (comprised of himself, Williams, Kournikova, Jan-Michael Gambill, and Tommy Haas) defeated Team Billie Jean (composed of King, Roddick, Davenport, Chanda Rubin, Devin Britton, and Lizel Huber) with an overall score of 16 games to Team Billie Jean’s 13 games.
It was the singles match between Roddick and Haas that determined the winner of the event, and Haas took the set, 5-2.
The first match was celebrity mixed doubles with Roddick and Kournikova versus Sir Elton and Williams. Team Elton won the match, and although it didn’t count toward the final score, it went the distance to a four games to three final score.
Throughout the match, Roddick and Williams were jawing back and forth.
“Venus would have returned that one,” Roddick said at one point to Williams, referring to Serena’s older sister, Venus.
The remainder of the matches counted and got a little more serious. Those matches went until the first team got to five games.
The first match (mixed doubles) put Williams and Haas of Team Elton against Roddick and Rubin of Team Billie Jean.
Team Elton took the match, 5-4 (5-4 in the tiebreaker), after falling down, 2-3, early.
In the second match (women’s doubles), Davenport and Huber of Team Billy Jean defeated Kournikova and Williams of Team Elton, 5-1, to give Team Billie Jean an 9-6 lead.
Team Elton stormed back in the men’s double match with Gambill and Haas defeating Roddick and Britton, 5-2, to tie the match at 11, leaving the singles action to determine the winner.
Even with the outcome, the hosts both said they had a great time at the event.
“It’s fun and it’s for a great cause,” King said. “Just being around these guys is fun enough for me.”
Kournikova, a seventh-year member of the event and a member of Team Elton, said the event is fun both on and off the court.
“Every time you participate in this event, you come out of it with a lot of pleasure,” Kournikova said. “You cannot not want to support this event.”
Though fans in the arena were taking numerous pictures of the stars they normally see on TV, they weren’t the only people star-struck.
Even some of the players said before the match they get nervous playing with their peers.
“Playing on behalf of people I’ve always looked up to … it’s pretty humbling just to be in their company,” said Roddick, a sixth-year member of the event. “It’s a fun event, and it’s a cause I’ll always support."

David Furnish has revealed forthcoming animation Gnomeo and Juliet is going to feature classic Elton John hits as well as new tracks.
The 47-year-old filmmaker is producing the comedy - featuring the voices of James McAvoy and Emily Blunt - and told how his civil partner is writing songs for the score.
David said: "It's got a lot of Elton's classic songs and he's even written some new songs that are going to appear in the film."
He added: "It's a wonderful, musical animated comedy - it's taking the Shakespearean Romeo and Juliet tale and telling it with garden gnomes so it's lots of fun, it's very witty, it's very British, terrific fun."
Patrick Stewart, Dame Maggie Smith, Sir Michael Caine and Jason Statham have also been linked to voice roles in the project.
David said: "It's an animated film we've been working on for a long time. We're in production right now and we are scheduled to be released in February 2011, so we'll finish production next year and do post-production and all the scoring and everything."
A Ukrainian industrialist and art collector plans to create a new international art prize for artists under age 35 who can enter online.
The Future Generation Art Prize will come with a cash award of $100,000 US, and a mentorship program with artists such as Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons or Andreas Gursky.
The prize is the brainchild of Ukraine's Victor Pinchuk, who plans to launch the award at a reception in New York on Tuesday.
Pinchuk is one of the world's biggest collectors of contemporary art and runs the Pinchuk Art Centre in Kiev. His Victor Pinchuk Foundation is the largest private Ukrainian philanthropic foundation, supporting children's charities, anti-AIDS groups and a chamber orchestra, among other causes.
Pinchuk has drawn on his contacts in the art and entertainment world to create a high-profile board, with members such as singer Elton John, a prominent collector of photography, and Miuccia Prada, a designer and collector.
To be given every two years, the Future Generation Art Prize will start taking applications in January with 20 shortlisted artists to be announced in June. The shortlisted artists are to take part in an exhibition in the Pinchuk Art Centre in Kiev.
The public will be able to participate online, viewing artists' works and voting for a People's Choice Award that doesn't carry a cash award.
The winners will be announced next December.
Pinchuk stipulates that $40,000 US of the prize money is to go into creating new works of art, with the potential to work alongside art stars from an older generation, including Koons and Hirst.
With its large cash award and potential for international exposure, the Future Generations Prize will join the ranks of the Turner Prize, the British award given out Monday, and the Hugo Boss Prize, given every two years by the Guggenheim museum in New York.
Other board members for the Future Generations Art Prize:
Richard Armstrong of the Guggenheim Foundation.
Glenn D. Lowry from Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Alfred Pacquement of the Pompidou Centre in Paris.
Nicholas Serota of the Tate in London.
Pinchuk also created the PinchukArtPrize for Ukrainian artists under 35.
Stars including STING, NEVE CAMPBELL and NATALIE IMBRUGLIA have donned some of SIR ELTON JOHN's most famous stage clothes to raise money for his charity.
The Rocket Man holds regular fundraising events for the Elton John AIDS Foundation, and his celeb pals agreed to help him offload his designer cast-offs for the Out Of The Closet event.
And the stars, including the singer's husband David Furnish, have modelled the clothes up for grabs for a spread in GQ magazine.
Sting says, "Elton and David are dear friends of mine, and I have the utmost respect for them as people and as campaigners.
"One of my favourite shots was with me wearing David's jacket and a pair of Elton's glasses. I looked a bit like Dame Edna Everage."
John adds, 'We always get a fantastic response - I think the idea that the items we all buy and enjoy can help someone in dire need, particularly at this time of year, really strikes a chord.'
Fans will have the opportunity to buy the clothes in a specially-designed shop in London from Saturday (12Dec09).

Elton John intends to provide financial and other support to a young Ukranian boy he had hoped to adopt, the singer-songwriter's partner David Furnish said Tuesday.
Furnish told BBC Radio that the couple were -hugely disappointed- that Ukrainian authorities had blocked their attempts to adopt Lev, a toddler they met in a Ukrainian orphanage, but hoped to still have some impact on his life.
Officials in the former Soviet republic said in September that foreigners are only allowed to adopt if they are married, and deemed the couple too old.
John, 62, and his long-term partner Furnish, 47, had a civil partnership in Britain in 2005 but the Ukraine does not recognise same-sex marriage.
- It's not possible -- the laws don't support the adoption - Furnish said.
- And we are finding ways of supporting Lev and his brother from here, keeping them in their own country and just making sure that they have the best health care, education and family options available to them. -
He added - (We) really felt we could make a huge difference in their lives, but we'll make a difference from here. -
Elton said in September that Lev, then 14-months old, had -stolen his heart- when he visited the Ukraine with his AIDS charity foundation.
The parents of some of the children in the orphanage had died of AIDS, although staff there have said it will not be possible to confirm whether Lev is HIV positive until he reaches the age of 18 months.
Furnish said the couple would campaign against Ukraine's adoption laws.
- I think there's a lot of things they need to catch up in terms of adoption and the status of the child that's HIV positive and what the status of their adoption is within their country - he said.
This would not apply to Lev and his brother - because we just want to get them out of the orphanage and with a good family as soon as possible. But for future children, they can have a better and a smoother path.
Elton John’s civil partner David Furnish has told how he fears for George Michael’s health and revealed friends of the star have asked them to help him.
Careless Whisper Michael singer recently admitted that he smoked crack cocaine in the past.
Speaking to Victoria Derbyshire on Radio Five Live yesterday morning Furnish said: ‘The difficult thing for Elton and me is a lot of George's friends keep calling us saying 'you have to do something, George is in a bad way, he's in a bad state.
‘We're only reacting to what his close friends say to us. I respect George, I love George, I think he's a huge talent.
'I just hope he's fine, I hope he's well and his reaction is the press it is what it is. I just hope he's well and happy and continues to be the great artist he is.’
Michael had hit out at Elton John telling him to ‘shut his mouth and get on with his own life’ after he expressed concern about the former Wham! singer’s wellbeing.
Asked by Derbyshire if the couple wanted to help Michael, Furnish said: ‘George has to want to help himself.
‘If he wants help we are here for him, if he doesn't want help that's fine, that's his choice too, if he doesn’t think he needs help that's fine too.’
He added that friends of the singer had told him and John they were ‘very concerned’ about the star.
Film-maker Furnish said: ‘A lot of people are saying it to us, we get it very, very regularly, that they are concerned about his health, concerned about his state of mind and his wellbeing and that as Elton has been there and experienced sobriety now for 19 years, that perhaps he's best positioned to be able to help out.
‘But if George feels he doesn't need help and his life is in check and balance, then maybe his friends are wrong. I haven’t seen him in such a long time, it's difficult to judge and pass comment.’
Earlier this month, Michael spoke candidly about his drug use and sex life in an interview with The Guardian.
He confirmed he was caught in possession of crack cocaine when arrested last year in public toilets on Hampstead Heath, a gay cruising area close to his home in north London.
He refused to say when he had last smoked the drug but said he had cut back on cannabis smoking to seven or eight joints a day instead of 25.
The 46-year-old defended his drug and sex life saying ‘it is just who I am’ and he said cruising on the Heath was 'nicer' than picking up men in bars.
U2 singer Bono offered to help Michael after Sir Elton John spoke to him, the singer claimed.
Michael added: 'Geri [Halliwell] told Kenny that Bono, having spoken to Elton, had approached Geri to say, "What can we do for George?"
'This is what I have to deal with because I don't want to be part of that social clique. All I'd have to do to stop it is hang out in London, so people realise I don't look close to death.'
He continued: 'Elton lives on that. He will not be happy until I bang on his door in the middle of the night saying, 'Please, please, help me, Elton. Take me to rehab.' It's not going to happen.
'Elton just needs to shut his mouth and get on with his own life. Look, if people choose to believe that I'm sitting here in my ivory tower, Howard Hughesing myself with long fingernails and loads of drugs, then I can't do anything about that, can I?'
He added: 'People want to see me as tragic with all the cottaging and drug-taking... those things are not what most people aspire to, and I think it removes people's envy to see your weaknesses.
'I don't even see them as weaknesses any more. It's just who I am.'

Elton commented, "Out of The Closet has become an amazing fundraising opportunity for the Elton John AIDS Foundation. We always get a fantastic response from the public - I think the idea that the items we all buy and enjoy can help someone in dire need, particularly at this time of year, really strikes a chord. I'm so grateful for everyone's support in making this happen."
David Furnish added, "The new stock in Out The Closet represents the largest clear out that I have ever had, and it's exciting to think that my clothes will draw a whole new demographic into our shop. For the first time we have sunglasses in-store and other accessories which will make great Christmas gifts."
The Elton John AIDS Foundation thanks their sponsors, Covent Garden London, for donating the use of Flower Cellars as the shop venue and JCPR (jcpr.com) for managing the media and communications.

Got your tickets for the Elton John concert in Durban on March 24?
If so, note that the venue has changed from the outer fields of the new Moses Mabhida Stadium to the ICC Arena.
Big Concerts yesterday announced that the concert by Sir Elton John (to give him his official moniker) and his long-time collaborator, renowned percussionist Ray Cooper (who has worked with The Who, Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney, Sting and Eric Clapton), will now take place at the ICC Durban Arena.
Big Concerts chief operating officer, John Langford, advised that the change was a necessary response to concerns expressed by the Durban public about the unpredictable weather conditions in March.
"By moving into the ICC Durban Arena, audiences will experience the world-renowned Elton John in a world-class facility without fear of getting rained on".
The last time Elton John came to Durban (January, 2008) the rain poured down. Having taken sick a few hours before, ever the trouper, Elton John made a heroic effort and the show went on.
"I was still on a drip 15 minutes before the show started," he told a crowd of more than 20 000 rain-soaked, but enthusiastic fans.
Fans who have already bought tickets are asked to go to Computicket to swap these for the ICC Durban Arena. Tickets are available from Computicket.
The show is supported by East Coast Radio. - Daily News Reporter
