HE'S seen the bright lights of Las Vegas and New York in his glittering career.
But finally Sir Elton John is ready for... Perth.
The Rocket Man will rock McDiarmid Park next July 6, it was revealed yesterday.
The ground, home of St Johnstone FC, is the only Scottish venue on the 60-year-old music legend's brief European tour next year.
Ben Martin, of promoters Marshall Arts, said: "It is the first time Elton has played Perth and there aren't many places Elton hasn't played in his 40 years on the road."
Elton has played many successful concerts at Scots football grounds.
But Martin added: "He is in such demand in America, especially Vegas, that the opportunities for Elton to play the UK are decreasing.
"Who knows when he will play in Perth again... if ever."
St Johnstone managing director Stewart Duff said: "We are absolutely delighted that an artist of Sir Elton's stature should be the star performer for our first ever concert at McDiarmid Park."
There will be reserved seating on the McDiarmid Park pitch to bring the gig capacity to 16,000-18,000.
Tickets at £40 and £60 go on sale on Monday from the SECXtra phone line or website.
