Elton Sells Out Sioux Falls & Amazon Adds Elton 60 Goodies
If this isn’t a record it is certainly tied at the top.
Workers at the Sioux Falls Arena sold 7,000 tickets for the Elton John show Oct. 7 in 18 minutes Saturday morning.
“This is not something we have a big data base on. But many of us have worked at the arena many years. We don’t have any indication we ever sold out faster on a single show,” says Russ DeCurtins, executive director SMG-Sioux Falls Arena.
About 70 people camped out overnight to be first in line when the arena doors opened at 8 a.m., he says.
“Anybody camped out, I’m confident they got tickets.
“Most of the people at the arena went through the line and got tickets. Some stood in line and did not get tickets. Those people did not show up until after 8 o:clock,” said DeCurtins.
He said the crowd was “very well behaved and diverse. There were some teenagers, some older folks and a lot of middle-aged people. They were very excited about the show and very cooperative about listening to instructions.”
