Michael Chugg is once again over the moon, to announce today that Elton John will perform at the Aurora Stadium, Launceston, on Saturday 8 December. Promoter of Elton’s Australian Tour, Michael Chugg, came to Tasmania today, and joined The Minister for Tourism, Arts and the Environment, Paula Wriedt, in making this ground breaking announcement. Chugg, a Launceston local, thanked the people of Tasmania for demonstrating their support to make this Elton concert happen, and is thrilled to bring the biggest party of all to his home town.

“You wanted him Tasmania, now you’ve got him,” cheered Chugg.

Tasmanians played a huge part in supporting the concert with over 5,000 registrations on the Elton John feature of Tourism Tasmania’s website. Those who registered will automatically go on to a pre-sale list for ticket offers before they are available to the general public.

With the recent announcement of the successful campaign in North Queensland and the news of a second show for the Hunter Valley, today’s announcement now takes the Rocket Man Solo Tour to a total of 8 solo shows across Australia.

These solo concerts will be a magical way to experience and enjoy the brilliance of Elton John’s music. On stage, just Elton John and a piano, audiences will be able to experience the breadth of his composing talent, listening to hit song after hit song from 35 years at the top of the charts.
